Freekeh Creamy Chicken & Greens Bake

  • 1.5 cups chicken broth
  • 2.5 cup milk
  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • 1 chicken bullion cube
  • 1lb uncooked chicken breast diced
  • 1 cup asparagus chopped into 2 inch pieces
  • 1.5 cups spinach
  • 1 package of Freekeh original or rosemary sage
  • 1.5 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  1. Preheat over to 375 degrees and grease a large baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan mix the chicken broth and flour together and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Once thickened, add in milk and the bullion cube and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Set burner to low once thickened.
  5. Add all remaining ingredients and half of the cheese in a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
  6. Slowly add in the cream sauce until everything is well coated.
  7. Transfer to baking dish, sprinkle remaining cheese on top, and cook covered for 35 minutes.
  8. Removed cover and cook for an additional 10 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
