Enjoy a Staycation with the IHG Rewards Club

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of IHG Rewards Club. All opinions are 100% mine.

Having an infant makes it hard for us to getaway for vacation. We have planned trips and then ended up postponing them due to the long drive and cranky kids. Last week we were going to travel up to Payson to explore but the weather forecasted ran all weekend so we had to postpone again but then it dawned on me. Why not enjoy a staycation with the IHG Rewards Club?

If you haven’t heard of the IHG® Rewards Club yet then you’re in luck! By signing up with the IHG® Rewards Club “Share Forever” Summer Promotion between now and September 2, 2015 you will earn 500 points AND you earn another 500 points for that same hotel stay to keep for yourself or share with another member. There are so many hotels that are part of IHG® its going to be hard to choose! Here are some pictures of our staycation from last year and all of the memories we made as a family of 3 as I was pregnant at the time. enjoying a staycation enjoying a staycation enjoying a staycation Regardless of where we decide to take a vacation, we know that any getaway we take together will create memorable times that can’t ever be taken away. Where will you be traveling to this summer? What would you use your points on?

That sounds like the way to go for people who like to travel a lot, but also like to save money at the same time! What a great idea!

  • Stacie @ Divine Lifestyle

We aren’t taking any trips this summer. We’ve decided to take it easy this year and just chill at the house.

  • Megan Elford

That’s a great way to make up for not being able to go with Plan A because of the weather! I don’t think we’ve ever actually done a staycation, but when you can gain points for doing it, why not? It looks like you guys had a great time!

  • Christy Maurer

We are probably going to be doing more staycationing than vacationing this summer! We’ll do some local things like going to the movies. I had heard of this program but haven’t looked too much into it yet. Thanks for sharing!

  • Diana Villa

wow that rewards club sounds amazing! I have a to check it out, thanks for the great post and giveaway ^_^

  • Alli

Staycations can be so much fun! My daughter and her husband did that one year. They stayed home and took day trips. Your way is a lot nicer with the IHG awards points and not having to stay home.

  • touristmeetstraveler

I agree! As long as you are with people you love there will always be great memories to be made, this is a really great post!

  • Liz Mays

I’d love to build up my points and spend them on a nice vacation. I need to remember it’s possible to share points!

  • Lynsey Jones

This is very smart thinking. It looks like you all had a great time. Some of the best vacations are the ones close to home. That way they can go by it more often and remember the good times more.

  • HilLesha

I don’t have an infant, but vacationing with my toddler can be such a trying experience at times! That is why I like the idea of a staycation.

  • Nancy (@spiffykerms)

You three are the cutest little family! My husband and I aren’t sure what we have going on this summer, but I do know he’s going to be training hard for the next upcoming Ironman triathlon. So, that’s pretty much it lol.

  • Uplifting Families

A stay cation can be just as fun as a traditional vacation. I miss the days when we would pick up and go stay in a hotel just because. We would leave the kids with family. Now that we have a little one we don’t get away as much. Hopefully, my husband and I can go to a bed and breakfast or something else fun.

I usually take a vacation in December to beat the cold here in the North East and go somewhere sunny, for the past two winters I have had to cancel my plans and I am long overdue for a vacation! I will have to check out IHG® Rewards Club as I like to join rewards programs for both the hotels and airlines! I especially like the programs where you earn points and then can use them for either hotel or airfare!

There’s nothing wrong with a good staycation. I love being home. And summertime is so enjoyable when my whole family can be together.

  • Rebecca Swenor

This is totally an amazing idea to join the IHG Rewards Club for those who travel a lot. I don’t travel hardly ever literally but my sister does so I will have to share this with her. I love the points you can rack up right now if you sign up. Thanks for sharing.

Stay cations are always the best! We just had one a few weeks ago in atlanta for a few braves games. Its always night to take last minute vacations.

We actually just stayed a weekend at a hotel using my IHG rewards club points! The hotel was beautiful and comfortable, my family loved it (aside from the mold) Great post!

  • jeanine

A staycation will be happening in our house this summer. We are planning to move at the end of summer so our time will be focusing on that, and money…. sooo, a staycation will be so much fun!

  • Shaney Vijendranath

What an awesome idea for people who love traveling. This will work great for my family. Not traveling anytime soon since baby is arriving soon.

  • Chubskulit Rose

We do staycation too especially when hubby can’t take a long days off. Love your photos underwater.

  • Lynndee

We love rewards programs and have actually enjoyed some rewards already. We still don’t know where we go for a vacay this summer. We’ll see.

  • Dogvills

When a vacation is not possible, staycation is our next option. This is a great idea and perfect for those who do a lot of traveling.

I love the idea of a staycation! Sometimes all the travel and whatnot really makes a vacation a nightmare. Staying close just makes it easier!

  • ricci

I love a good stay cation but have never thought to stay at a hotel close to home. Great idea!!

  • lisa @bitesforbabies

Sounds like a great program! I could never do a staycation during the summer, lol! Actually, my husband is from Italy so we spend our summers there on the beach…sure beats a staycation! 😉

  • Shannon Gurnee

I love the underwater picture! Staycations are the best!

  • Bree @ HalfPennyBlog

This is definitely something that I will be checking out! I’m hoping that me and my husband will get to travel more after the end of this year and it would be awesome to have a reward system in place to make our stays cheaper and more convenient!

  • Aisha Kristine Chong

And that is just so much fun! Plus the rewards system really just made it much better, too!
