Women on the Run with Gildan Esprit de She

esprit de sheAfter giving birth to my second child in December, I have put my running on the back burner quite a bit and have been focusing on body restoration through yoga. It has been great exploring a new practice with a new me and helping my body heal but now I’m ready to get back to my roots, running. One of the runs I have always been trying to participate in but haven’t had the chance to yet is the Gildan Esprit de She and this year, its finally going to happen.

If you haven’t heard of the Esprit de She race and you’re a woman then you’re in for a treat. The Esprit de She is designed exclusively for women, to empower and celebrate, as well as support Girls on the Run (their national charity partner). Also, did I mention the awesome swag bag that comes along with your registration? Here is a list of goodies of what you’ll find in your bag:

  • A custom MPG performance tank (worth $40)
  • Stylishly functional race bag to use while shopping the post-race market
  • Event timer and tracker

Running in general is great but sometimes its even better when you are running with a group of women who have the same mindset and mission as you. I have so many friends that want to participate in a run but are worried about what others will think of them when they are walking a 15-20 minute mile. Ladies, here is your opportunity to participate in a great event that will not only support you but celebrate you overcoming your fears and embracing the pavement.

When you’re finished breaking a sweat and look like a heaping ball of fire you can head over to the Panasonic Beauty Bar for complimentary massages, mini manicures, blowouts and hair braiding. Feeling hungry? Head on over to the post race snacks table to enjoy some healthy tapas and while you’re at it you can wash down all that yummyness with 2 complimentary drinks at the Bubbly Bar. Finally once you’ve cooled off, don’t forget to grab your free post race photo to remember the awesome time you’ve had.

I don’t know about you but to me, this is essentially the every-woman’s 5K/10K! So if you’re currently staring at your screen telling me to shut up and take your money well then head on over here to sign up for this year’s race on October first. (can’t afford a registration right now? Look below!) This year’s Mesa race is being sponsored by Lifetime Fitness and will be held next to the Cub’s training facility and in good ole Arizona fashion, will prove to be a hot one so come hydrated and ready to rock it. See you there!

Now for all you amazing readers, leave a comment below letting me know if you’ve ever ran a women’s only race and who you would bring with you. I will randomly select a winner plus a guest of their choice to win a  free registration!

That is so motivating! I would love to run a race! I currently lack any motivation or a solid fitness level to be able to run a race! I always say I’m going to start running but always find so silly excuse. Thanks for sharing x

  • Alli

I have never participated in a race before. My daughter runs in many, but I’m more of a walker. I do have to say that this race would be a great one. I like that it’s all about women! Good luck!

  • Carol

I’ve never participated in an organized race. I’m afraid walking is more my speed. But one time I did actually run around my whole block (one mile). I was on a high all day!

    • Jeska

You have to start somewhere! So many people walk runs/races all of the time, I’m sure you’d do great! 🙂

  • Heather

I am impressed! I just started up running, but yoga impresses me because I have steel rods in my back and am not very flexible, so I get jealous with people who can do it. I can’t do very many of the moves without it being painful. I’m happy you are finding the time to take care of yourself again. Its so important that we not neglect ourselves.

There are so many runners in my neighborhood. I haven’t joined them yet but I may have to try it out soon. You make it look like a great experience!

  • Haleigh

I would love to win an entry for the run! ????

  • Savannah Miller

Swag bag you say? Consider my intrigued! This does sound like a lot of fun and I love that it is meant to empower women, the beauty bar at the end sounds like lots of fun too!!

  • Mary Edwards

I’ve always wanted to run a 5k. This one looks like a GREAT one to attend!

  • Savannah Miller

Swag bags you say? Now I am intrigued! I love that it is meant to empower women and the beauty bar afterwards sounds like so much fun!!

I’ve participated in two 5k now and they were both so amazing! It was such a great bonding experience with my friends and I’m so bummed I’ll be out of town when my favorite race comes back to Chicago. I LOVE that The Esprit de She is designed exclusively for women. I’ll definitely be looking into that <3

  • Brandi

I’ve not done a 5k period YET. I plan on it though. It is one of my weight loss goals, and I plan on marking it off my list soon.

  • Jennifer Mitchell

This is my first time hearing of the Esprit de She race! It sounds like it’s a really good race!

oooh, the end sounds super nice. lol. i am not really a runner; i do it because its quick, but i am out of breath in like 2 minutes.

  • Wendy

Really nice swag bag! Sounds like a great run. Congrats for getting back to running after the baby!

  • Brittany

I just had our 3rd baby 2 months ago, so I am in the same boat as you! I started running again but I think I need to follow your lead and do some yoga for body restoration. My joints hurt after I run right now. This race looks like so much fun! I am planning on doing one in San Diego in February! Exciting!

  • Colette S

Wow. Kudos to you and your team!
I see women participating in these events all the time and one day I will get one going.

So glad you are finally able to run in the event you want to !

  • Tiffany

What an amazing run! I woiuld never qualify myself as a runner but this would definitely be an experience I would love to add to my list of Must Do things. Congratulations!

  • Chantal
