Bring a new baby! I took a test on Monday(7/31) early in the morning and was expecting it to be negative. Sure enough, I saw a faint line starting to appear. I had to blink my eyes a couple of times to make sure I was seeing it correctly but yep, it was positive.
I literally didn’t know how to react other than shocked. We did follow my ovulating app this cycle to try and conceive but it was our first time trying and we didn’t expect it to work honestly. Guess I must be a fertile myrtle after all! As soon as I overcame the shock and started to get excited, I started wondering how I should tell David.
As soon as I overcame the shock and started to get excited and I started wondering how I should tell David. He kept joking that he wondered how I would tell him the next time I got pregnant. I sat on my bed and debated back and forth how I wanted to do it. I thought about doing something cute but then I came to terms with the fact that I’m too impatient.
So how did I do it? Well, we have a 4th bedroom that’s the office/man cave currently. I was talking about moving the desk out into the dining room and all of that once we were pregnant again. Literally, the night before I was considering going ahead and doing that just because I thought I’d be able to work better while watching the boys. David said no not to do it yet. He thought it would look silly so I agreed to wait.
Due to this conversation, I thought the easiest way to let him know was by talking about the desk. I knew he would be totally unprepared and for me, it would be funny. So I sent him a text saying, so I think we need to move the desk after all. He responded with, why? I sent a picture of the positive pregnancy test. A few minutes later he started flooding my phone with texts which made me giggle.
Now that he knows, we have been having a hard time not slipping up. Its literally only been days since finding out but man has it been hard keeping it a secret. We plan to tell a couple people within the next week but overall we are trying to wait until our first ultrasound. Since most of my family doesn’t read my blog, I figured I could get it off my chest here for now.
