Documenting Halloween is a must do for me every year. We always try to go with family themed costumes because I think they’re adorable. This year, however, Max begged to be Cat boy. As much as I didn’t want to give up a theme, I couldn’t resist him. Being his first year branching out and Evan stoked with the costume I found for him, I decided to capture it in a new way with Portrait Studios.
Halloween with Portrait Studios
Portrait Studios are located in Walmart Supercenters and offer a wide variety of photography services. From newborn photos to holiday cards, Portrait Studios has you covered, not to mention photographers at each studio have been trained in the newest posing and shooting techniques. We decided to venture out to our local studio to capture the boy’s costumes this year. Not to mention we haven’t had their photos taken in well over a year. Of course, they didn’t care about the photos, they were stoked about getting to wear their costumes.
When we arrived we met RJ who was incredibly friendly and helpful with explaining the process and asking our preferences. We are easy to please so we decided to leave it in his hands. The boys responded really well to his pleasant demeanor and tricky high fives.
One thing I was worried about was how long the session would take. Evan is no problem but taking photos of a toddler is a challenge. Their attention span is short and they get bored easily. RJ worked quickly and efficiently and our session was finished in a matter of minutes. He also made sure to ask if I was happy with all the shots we had taken and if there was anything further I’d like to add.
Choosing Our Products
Once we were happy with all of the shots, we headed over to view them all. The photographer quickly edited each photo and showed us all of our options to narrow down. We finally decided on our prints, greeting cards, and even decided to get a 16×20 canvas. I’m not going to lie, as a former photographer who has used really nice printing companies for canvases, Walmart shocked me. The canvas arrived 4 days after the shoot and was made extremely well. The colors were vibrant and the quality was above and beyond what I had expected. So if you’re on the edge about ordering one, do it! You won’t regret it!

Lovely 😊
I love this! I’ve never thought of doing Halloween portraits before. I’d love to get the whole family dressed up for a super cool family portrait!
Wow, these are great photos! The photo places sure have come a long way over the years! I love the quality and the background design—and of course, the models did great too!
Those are really adorable Halloween photos. Portrait Studios did an amazing job and the photo contest is an awesome addition too! Good luck to your kiddos!
I haven’t been to an actual portrait studio in forever but your pictures are amazing!! I love the quality and I bet the price was amazing as well!!
That’s awesome! Who doesn’t love free and who doesn’t love a kid in costume? I am stoked about the holiday coming up and can’t wait for all of the fun to begin.
Wow – That would be an awesome deal even without also getting the digital rights. I took snapshots of my kids on Halloween throughout their youth but those are now old and faded. It would be nice to have them in an ageless format like digital.
Those photos look great! The quality of them is stunning. I’m very excited for Halloween myself. My girls are getting excited as well.
Great pictures of your kids! Halloween is such a great time for family photos! The FREE photo deal sounds awesome! Especially the digital picture aspect since so many pictures are shared online and via social media now.
These are some cute pics! Our local Portrait studios recently closed and was replaced with a pretzel shop
