If you haven’t heard by now, FX has just released a new show called Better Things. Its a realistic show about a single mom trying to raise three daughters in hectic Los Angeles, CA. Better Things depicts motherhood for what it really is. Emotionally and physically draining but an incredibly rewarding experience you would never change for the world.
Created by Louis CK and Pamela Adlon, together they have created a look into the hectic journey of motherhood. From smoking pot to unrelenting snuggles in bed, there are so many missed moments that tv shows neglect when depicting motherhood. Yes, shows and movies will show kids having a party and the mess they make but do they show who’s really cleaning everything up? Nope.
Watching the trailer alone gave me giggles as I sympathized with Sam’s pillow shopping preview. I think her test on the pillow is a great example of motherhood and totally something I would do! When you have a kiddo who comes in your room and refuses to leave, good pillows are a must. I personally have watched the first two episodes and can’t wait to see what’s to come. Oh and speaking of, you can watch the first two episodes free with FX’s one hour preview option if you don’t have cable!
