Congratulations to me! I have finally hit the second trimester, which is within weeks 14 through 27. My morning aka day sickness has faded away finally and I can eat/be a normal human being again.
This is the stage I look forward to the most when I’m pregnant. I feel energetic again. I can actually function unlike the first three months. My favorite part however is getting excited about feeling the baby kick. That was my absolute favorite part of being pregnant with Evan and I can’t wait to feel those little thumps again.
My goals for this trimester are:
1. Increase but control my appetite…if it comes back. Compared to the first trimester, its improving but I still can’t eat very much. With Evan I never had an problems eating like normal but this baby doesn’t seem to be down with that plan. I’ve been eating a mix of fast food and healthier food which I will try to keep up since I’m still losing weight instead of gaining.
2. Try some low impact exercise. Since I just had surgery in February I hadn’t been working out like I had been the whole year. My tumor caused me a lot of pain and I had to back off until surgery. Afterwards I found out I was pregnant less than a month later so all of that combined meant that its recommended that I only do low impact exercises and not full on beast mode like I love to do. I know exercise is super important for a healthy and easier pregnancy so I’m definitely going to give walking, swimming, and maybe some prenatal yoga a try.
3. Perform Kegels. Super awkward topic probably but since I’m trying my best at going for a VBAC I want to be prepared and ready to push this baby out. If you don’t know what kegels are its really the action of tightening your vagina muscles for a few seconds and then letting them relax just like when you stop and start to pee. Doing this several times a day helps train your pelvis for labor.
4. Enjoy having sex with your David. These months are the most comfortable time for both of us to do it so its on. Not that it hurt in the first trimester but the surgery healing time kind of put a damper on things. Now that I’m all healed and feeling up to it, I’m ready!
That’s about all I have right now but stay tuned for the gender reveal since that’s something that is also super exciting in the second trimester! I’m hoping for a girl and David is hoping for a boy so we shall see!
