A few weeks ago we packed our bags and headed out for our pacific northwest coast adventure from Arizona to Washington. We had made arrangements to stay at the Hofsas House Hotel in a little place called Carmel-by-the-sea which I honestly had never heard of and had to look up on a map. It seemed small and quaint so I figured it would be a nice place to explore that was on route to our final destination.
Hofsas House in Carmel by the Sea
When we arrived in Carmel-by-the-Sea I was engulfed immediately! For anyone who watches Once Upon a Time, it was like I was transported to a fairy tale land with moss covered buildings, narrow lanes, and no street lights. And no, that’s not an exaggeration, its true! As we navigated our way through the charming little streets we finally arrived our cozy European style boutique hotel.
Our Room at Hofsas House in Carmel by the Sea
The light pink building and abundance of colorful flowers everywhere immediately welcomed us with open arms as I parked to check in. It took no time at all to collect our room key(it was a REAL key!) from the extremely courteous front desk help. They even went as far as moving their vehicle for us to have a parking spot directly in front of our room.
After parking our car and unloading, we headed straight to one of the 38 spacious Bavarian inspired rooms that was ours for the next two nights. I couldn’t wait to open our dutch door entry to then be greeted by a chilled bottle of local wine and cheese from the Cheese Shop.
Our room had a new age vintage feel to it and came complete with a fireplace and newly remolded bathroom. The first thing I had to do was step outside to see our ocean view during sunset. Though the view is small, it didn’t matter. Just one nice inhale of the fresh salty air and I was in heaven.
Complimentary Breakfast at Hofsas House in Carmel by the Sea
The next day we got up early to check out the complimentary breakfast they offered which was filled with delicious pastries, fruit, yogurt, coffee, and more. They even offered trays for you to carry your breakfast back to your room to enjoy which we did on the patio. When you’re from a big city like Phoenix, you want to enjoy all the beautiful weather and clean air that you can!
Once our bellies were filled we headed out to explore all that Carmel-by-the-Sea had to offer but with so many gems in the area, that post will have to come later!
We are so glad that we had the opportunity to explore such a beautiful area in such a charming boutique hotel. The Hofsas House being family owned and operated for over 75 years really puts them a step ahead of the rest. Then add in the fact that they are family and pet friendly offering welcome gifts for your furry family members, it can’t get any better than that! I would highly recommend anyone traveling in the area or on the coast line to do yourself a favor and head to the Hofsas House in Carmel-by-the-Sea. You won’t find another beauty like it!
