Finding good lodging when travel with kids is a MUST. There’s nothing worse than booking a hotel, showing up, and there isn’t enough space or promised amenities. Checking in at the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando – Lake Buena Vista was nothing short of our expectations!
Holiday Inn Resort Orlando – Lake Buena Vista
Located in the heart of Lake Buena Vista, this resort is minutes from Disney Springs, the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks, and a short drive from Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando. Did I mention the shopping options at the Orlando Premium Outlets and Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores, too? Needless to say, the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando is nestled in the perfect little spot for your Orlando family vacation.
Checking in, you can expect to find oversized guest rooms with an updated appearance. Our room specifically featured a Kids Suite! These suites include a plush king bed with double bunk beds in a separate area for the kids, free Wi-Fi, microwave, mini fridge, and a Keurig. The kids absolutely loved the bunk beds complete with their own tv and x-box!
*Friendly tip! No games are in the room when you check in. You will need to go down to the front desk to see what is available to borrow.*
To up the ante, the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando offers tons of onsite amenities including an extensive outdoor pool area with poolside activities, kids’ Splash Pad, indoor market, outdoor bar, outdoor life-size games, and an indoor Cyber Arcade. Needless to say, the outdoor pool area with the bar was our favorite spot.
Everyday we would head down to the pool in between activities and spend time in the water. We loved that extensive pool area had a shallow end with the splash pad near it. This made things so much easier with the older boys playing in the pool while our three year old could go back and forth from the splash pad to the pool with ease.
We also took advantage of all of the games available. From the life-size chess set to the pool games hosted by the staff for the kiddos. Max ended up winning a game and a prize for doing so!
For food, you have two options on property and several options just off the property. On-site, the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando has a connected Applebee’s® Restaurant that offers delicious American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also, a nice touch to our stay was that kids 12 years old and under(up to 4 kids) eat free any time of the day in any Holiday Inn® on-site restaurant. So we definitely took advantage after a busy day of activities to head back to our room, freshen up, then head down to the attached Applebee’s for dinner.
If you’re looking for snacks or any necessities you may have forgotten, there is also a little market on-site! We definitely decided to stock on snacks and few sweet treats during our stay…we also forgot to pack toothpaste so it was nice not having to leave our location to retrieve anything we had forgotten!
Would We Stay Again?
Yes and that’s exactly what we did! We checked out of the resort and headed down to spend time in the Indian Rocks Beach area as my husband spent many summers there as a kid. Once we sunbathed by the ocean for a few days, we headed back up to Orlando and checked right back in to the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando – Lake Buena Vista. Needless to say, this resort will be at the top of our list on our next visit out to Orlando!
