It’s no secret that pregnancy brings on two types of skin. You get lucky with flawless glowing pregnancy skin or you get hormone induced acne. Lucky me, I’ve been hit with the pregnancy acne type, every time. Since I am very conscious of what products I use when pregnant, having a safe pregnancy skincare routine is a must.
Perfectly Posh Chunks
You all know I love my Perfectly Posh products so their chunks should be no surprise here. For those of you who are behind, go check out my post here to catch. Perfectly Posh chunks come in a variety of scents and range from $5-$9 in price. So what’s so great about pricey soap? Well, PP’s chunks are made with natural-based ingredients and are easily twice the size of regular bar soaps. I’d say when we use Dove we go through a bar of soap every 2-3 weeks. With Perfectly Posh chunks we use one up in roughly 6-8 weeks. Huge difference for sure. If your skin is being extra sensitive you can also opt for scent free chunks.
Alba Pineapple Face Wash
I love my BFF face wash but since becoming pregnant, it’s been a bit too harsh on my face. I started searching for other natural face washes and stumbled upon the Alba Pineapple face washes at Fry’s. At first, I grabbed just the facial cleanser but found it was a bit soft for my intense pregnancy acne. I went back to the store and grabbed the facial scrub and found it was really thick. It got the job done but I felt like I had a film of oil on my face. Why would I suggest these then? Well, I decided to mix the two face washes together and it was the perfect combo! The lightness of the cleanser and the thickness of the scrub evened out to a perfect middle ground for my face.
Organic Doctor Snail Gel
The wonder product of them all, snail slime. I’m sure you are probably getting disgusted right now but you shouldn’t. Snail slime is the epitome of all things great in my pregnancy skin care routine. Though it can go by many different names, gel, cream, Helix Aspersa Muller secretion, it’s all snail slime. Why is it the holy grail of my routine? Snail slime reduces inflammation and redness, stimulate skin regeneration, and locks in moisture.
The Organic Doctor Snail Gel was my first experience with snail slime. Organic Doctor is an award-winning skincare line from the UK, which just launched in the U.S. I was expecting something well, slimy. Turns out it looks, smells, and feels like a normal cream. I was really surprised and slathered it on my face immediately. I would say it has a medium weight feel to it and almost feels a little tingly for a second. Similar to a peppermint essential oil tingle but not as intense.
Organic Doctor scours the planet for the finest botanical and naturally inspired ingredients to ensure that the bioactive properties of the organic ingredients in each product are truly captured. You can grab Organic Doctor Snail Gel as well as many of their other products at your local CVS or online at Amazon.
Hot Tip! Snail slime is packed with collagen and elastin boosters and many suggest its awesome for avoiding stretch marks.
Only brands and products I am discovering right now reading your post. I imagine that your skin might be pretty fragile and sensitive when you’re pregnant so you really need to treat it well. Looks like your routine is quite sound.
I’ve been looking at alba botanica for a while now and never got to buy it but now I’m thinking about it. The snail gel looks and sounds very interesting.
I think I have tried the facial wash, it looks familiar. Does it smell good?
What a great sounding routine you have in place, I am loving the sound of the snail gel I might just have to treat myself to that and give it a whirl.
I’ve never actually heard of any of these products. I hate trying stuff at random that I’ve heard nothing about. Now I’m going to be on the lookout for them. Thank you!
These look like fabulous products. I’m intrigued by the snail gel. I’ve never heard of it before.
I have heard of slime gel. I haven’t used it before though… I’m definitely interested.
It’s really good to have a pregnancy skin care routine. That’s the one thing I was adamant about when I was expecting. I wish I had known about these products because I’m certain I would have tried them.
I had to read the snail gel a couple of times. Is it really from snails? It can’t possibly be.. can it??? I’m totally into all the other products and very curious about the snail gel.
Yep! It’s really from snails! lol
I haven’t heard any of those. I think it is important to have skin care routine for everyone, but it should be more safe or to use organic products for pregnant.
Snail gel! I have never heard of that before but now I def want to try it! Taking care of your skin during pregnancy is so important!
Absolutely love the Albi products – and hadn’t heard of the others. Snail gel!?!?! That’s a must try! We will definetly check it out 🙂
Though I always want to say ill at snail slime products they are actually quite remarkable. Love the items you’re using, need to check some of them out
It really is important to use safe skincare products when you are pregnant, but it is also important to make sure that you take really great care of your skin too!
Anything from Perfectly Posh is a life saver! I havent tried that particular item, but their smashing pumpkin and gender bender are to die for!
Pregnancy does such crazy things to our bodies and our skin! I’m glad you’ve found some great products to make things better. Every pregnant woman should feel beautiful.
I think it’s important to take care of yourself when your pregnant. Both inside and out!
This is so interesting. I wouldn’t have thought to mix different formulas. But that’s awesome that you were able to do that and get the kind of mixture you were looking for.
I wish I had these for my pregnancy! Skincare is so important especially during that time!
I have never heard of the snail anything before.. It really does sound gross but from your review I would try it. The Organic Doctor Snail Gel is something I will have to pick up. Thanks for sharing the information.
Im so curious about the snail gel, its my first reading an article about it and knowing that kind of product actually exists. Anyway, you have a fab routine! Will probably recommend these products to a friend of mine who’s also pregnant right now 🙂
Hey, I am new to all these products. Never heard them before but it looks good. Definitely going to suggest these products to my relatives during their pregnancy.
That facewash looks like it would be so perfect. I know my facial skin was always the worst when I was pregnant.
