With living in Arizona as long as I have you would think moving back would be an easy transition. Sadly, for my skin, it has not been. Washington’s water is so much softer and the extra humidity did wonders for me. Coming back has reminded me of the things you need to survive living in Arizona and I’m here to let you in on the secret.
Things You Need to Survive Living in Arizona
Water
I know, a real shocker, right? Seriously though, many UNDERestimate how vital it is to consume water living here. You may think, well I drink quite a bit so it shouldn’t make that much of a difference, but it does!
After a few weeks of being here you will start to notice the warning signs your body is giving you in regard to being under hydrated. For example, dark urine, constipation, itchy skin, a sore throat, chapped lips, etc.
The best way to start combating the dry weather is to start hydrating from the inside out!
Moisturizers
Though water is the best starting point, you definitely will want to invest in some quality moisturizers. You will more than likely need something for everyday like an all over body lotion, a heavy cream for stubborn areas, and a great face moisturizer. If I don’t use moisturizers my skin gets SO ITCHY that I can’t stand it! Save yourself the irritation and stock up ahead of time.
Vaseline Lip Therapy
One of the most noticeable parts of my body that lets me know something is up is my lips. My lips become chapped quickly if I haven’t been hydrating adequately. My go to product lately has definitely been Vaseline Lip Therapy sticks. They come in 4 varieties, Original, Aloe Vera, Rosy Lips, and Cocoa Butter and they’re all amazing.
Using these sticks is such a lip soothing experience at an awesome price point. You can find them at retailers like Target, Walmart, and the Dollar Store so definitely grab one or four to keep your lips feeling as soft as ever!
What are things you need to survive living in Arizona that I haven’t mentioned above?!
